چکیده

We consider a scheduling problem in which the criterion for assigning due dates is to make them as tight as possible, while the criterion for sequencing jobs is to minimize their tardiness. Because these two criteria conflict, we examine the trade-off between the tightness of the due dates and the tardiness of the jobs. We formulate a version of this trade-off in the case of a stochastic single-machine model with normally distributed processing times. Using lower bounds and dominance properties to curtail the enumeration, we develop a branch-andbound procedure that is capable of solving large versions of the problem, and we report the results of computational experiments involving several hundred test problems.

A Mathematical Programming Model for Flow Shop Scheduling Problems for Considering Just in Time Production

In this paper, we consider a flow shop scheduling problem with bypass consideration for minimizing the sum of earliness and tardiness costs. We propose a new mathematical modeling to formulate this problem. There are several constraints which are involved in our modeling such as the due date of jobs, the job ready times, the earliness and the tardiness cost of jobs, and so on. We apply adapte...

Parallel Jobs Scheduling with a Specific Due Date: Asemi-definite Relaxation-based Algorithm

This paper considers a different version of the parallel machines scheduling problem in which the parallel jobs simultaneously requirea pre-specifiedjob-dependent number of machines when being processed. This relaxation departs from one of the classic scheduling assumptions. While the analytical conditions can be easily statedfor some simple models, a graph model approach is required when confli...

SINGLE MACHINE DUE DATE ASSIGNMENT SCHEDULING PROBLEM WITH PRECEDENCE CONSTRAINTS AND CONTROLLABLE PROCESSING TIMES IN FUZZY ENVIRONMENT

In this paper, a due date assignment scheduling problem with precedence constraints and controllable processing times in uncertain environment is investigated, in which the basic processing time of each job is assumed to be the symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy number, and the linear resource consumption function is used. The objective is to minimize the crisp possibilistic mean (or expected) value of...

A Genetic Algorithm Approach to Dynamic Job Shop Scheduling Problem

This paper describes a genetic algorithm approach to the dynamic job shop scheduling problem with jobs arriving continually. Both deterministic and stochastic models of the dynamic problem were investigated. The objective functions examined were weighted flow time, maximum tardiness, weighted tardiness, weighted lateness, weighted number of tardy jobs, and weighted earliness plus weighted tardi...

Minimizing Total Weighted Tardiness with Drop Dead Dates in Single Machine Scheduling Problem

This paper deals with minimization of tardiness in single machine scheduling problem when each job has two different due-dates i.e. ordinary due-date and drop dead date. The drop dead date is the date in which jobs’ weights rise sharply or the customer cancels the order. A linear programming formulation is developed for the problem and since the problem is known to be NP-hard, three heuristic...
